Your medical file is handled with the utmost respect for your privacy. The file will be accessed by your medical practitioner, and when necessary, for example in the absence of usual medical practitioner, by other medical practitioners in the practice. It may also be necessary for our staff to handle your file from time to time to address the administrative requirements of running a medical practice. Our staff are bound by strict confidentiality requirements as a condition of employment regarding your medical records.
Ordinarily we will not release the contents of your medical file without your consent. However, we advise that there may be occasions where we will be required to release the details of your file irrespective of whether you consent to the disclosure of information. This will occur where the law requires disclosure, such as pursuant to a subpoena.
We advise that as a patient of this practice you have rights of access to any information we hold concerning you. Should you wish to access this information we refer you to our handout entitled “Request For Personal Health Information”.
We welcome constructive feedback from our patients with a view to continually striving to improve the service we offer.
From the 1st September 2018 our fees are:-
A standard consultation is $95 (Medicare rebate $37.60).
A long consultation is $180 (Medicare rebate $72.80).
A prolonged consultation > 40 minutes is $250.00 (Medicare rebate $107.15).
Consultations on Saturday and Sunday do incur a higher fee.
We ask that all accounts be paid on the day and we can arrange for the Medicare rebate to be put in your account within 48 hours. We accept Visa, Mastercard and EFTPOS but we do not accept Diners Club and American Express cards.
Bulk Billing is available to Veteran Affairs card holders.
In addition to the consultation, further cost may be incurred through investigations, procedures, treatments or specialist consultations.

Our appointments are scheduled at 15 minute intervals, but we keep times open to fit in urgent problems. We request that all patients come to the reception desk on arrival.
If you require more time, or are new to the Practice, please request a longer appointment. We are aware that your time is valuable and always endeavour to minimise waiting times.
Occasionally your own doctor may be unavailable, however, we function as a cohesive team and continuity of care will always be maintained when seeing another doctor.

New patients require a 30 minute appointment and our Doctors ask they bring along any medication they are taking to the appointment.
In certain circumstances, our doctors may issue repeat prescriptions and re-referrals without an appointment. We require 48 hours notice from when your usual doctor is next in.
There is a charge of $25.
It is illegal to back date a referral, please ensure your referral is current.

Please note that these are both Private Hospitals so there will be an out of pocket facility fee.
The Alfred Hospital, Monash Medical Centre and the Royal Children’s Hospital all have an accident and emergency department.

Glen Iris Medical Group is committed to provide education to Medical Students and Nursing students.
Patients will be asked when they make their appointment if they consent to have a medical student in the consultation and again when they arrive for their appointment.
