Does your practice see new patients?

Glen Iris Medical Group welcomes new patients.

New patients require a 30 minute appointment for their first visit in order for the doctor to obtain appropriate details & medical history. Prior to the appointment, please ensure you have completed the new patient registration form that you will receive via SMS. Our doctors also ask new patients to bring along any current medication.

Appointments can be made online, via the AMS Connect app or by calling reception on 03 9509 7633.

What are your fees?

Glen Iris Medical Group is a private billing practice. Click here for more information regarding our fees or call reception on 03 9509 7633.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, appointment bookings are required to see our GP’s or Practice Nurses, unless the doctor or nurse deems that an urgent consultation is required.

Our appointments are scheduled at 15 minute intervals. We reserve some appointment times each day to fit in patients who need urgent care. If you require a longer appointment, have multiple items to discuss, or are a new patient, please book a long appointment (30 minutes).

We request that all patients check in at the reception desk upon arrival, or call us from your car when you arrive if you have any cold/flu symptoms.

We are aware that your time is valuable & always endeavour to minimise waiting times where possible.

Occasionally your usual GP may be unavailable. However, we function as a cohesive team & continuity of care will always be maintained when seeing another doctor at the practice.

In certain circumstances, your doctor may be able to provide a repeat prescription or re-referral without an appointment. Click here for more information.

We offer an online Script & Referral Request service for existing patients who meet certain criteria. There is a charge of $28 for this service.

Please note there is a 2 to 4 business day turnaround time for a script or referral without an appointment. If you require something more urgently, or if you require more than 1 script or referral, you will need to book an appointment instead.

It is illegal for doctors to backdate a referral. Please ensure you have a current referral for any upcoming specialist appointments.

Can I get my test results without an appointment?

Patients are asked to phone the practice to get their results after having a test performed.

Once we receive your results, your doctor will mark them & leave a message for staff to pass on to you when you phone. In some cases, you will receive an SMS from us advising that your doctor would like you to book an appointment to discuss the results, or speak to the practice nurse about them.

If you have a My Health Record (linked to your MyGov account), your test results from Melbourne Pathology are automatically uploaded there for you to view.
